Our commitment: gambling is entertainment, not income

We want playing with us to stay what it is meant to be: entertainment that you choose, enjoy and can stop whenever you like. Every game we offer carries a built-in advantage for the house, so over time the money staked is more likely to be lost than won. The most useful habit any player can have is to treat that money as the cost of the entertainment rather than a way to earn or to win back a loss.

Before you play, decide what you can comfortably afford to lose and how long you want to spend. Use money that is left over once rent, bills, food and other commitments are covered. Keep your gambling budget separate, never gamble with borrowed money or with funds that belong to someone else, and never increase your stakes to chase a losing session.

Our services are for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to open an account, deposit or place a stake with us. We hold a gaming licence and verify the age and identity of every account holder, and any account found to belong to a person under 18 is closed.

If play has stopped feeling like entertainment

If you no longer feel in control of when you play, how much you stake or how you feel afterwards, stop, use the tools in the next section, and consider speaking to one of the organisations listed further down this page.

The tools in your account and how to switch them on

Every account includes a set of controls you can use to keep your play inside the limits you set for yourself. They are free to use, they do not affect your access to your balance, and you never have to give us a reason for applying one.

What each tool does

ToolWhat it doesWhen it takes effect
Deposit limitCaps how much you can deposit over a day, a week or a monthLower limits apply at once; higher limits only after the cooling-off period shown in your account
Loss limitCaps the net amount you can lose over the period you chooseLower limits apply at once; higher limits after the same cooling-off period
Session limitEnds your session once you have been logged in for the length of time you setImmediately, from your next session
Reality checkShows an on-screen reminder at the interval you pick, with time played and the result so farImmediately
Time-outLocks your account to play for a short break, chosen from the periods listed in your settingsImmediately, and it cannot be lifted early
Self-exclusionCloses your account to play for one of the longer periods listed in your settingsImmediately, and it cannot be shortened or cancelled

Applying a limit, a time-out or a self-exclusion

  1. Sign in and open the safer gambling section of your account.
  2. Choose the control you want, then set the amount or the period that suits you.
  3. Confirm the change. The limit that is now in force is shown on the same screen.
  4. Tightening a limit takes effect straight away. Raising or removing one is held for the cooling-off period shown in your account and must then be confirmed again, so a decision made in the moment cannot undo a decision you made calmly.
  5. If you cannot find a setting, ask us on live chat or write to support@casino-vave.co.uk and we will apply it to your account for you.

While a time-out or self-exclusion is running we will not accept deposits or stakes from you, we will remove you from our marketing, and we will not knowingly open another account for you. Any balance left in your account is returned to you by the methods set out in the cashier. When a self-exclusion period ends, play does not simply resume: you must ask us to reopen the account, and we apply a further waiting period before we accept any stake.

A deposit limit set when you open your account is the simplest safeguard there is. You can always lower it, and it quietly does its work in the background.

Signs that gambling may be becoming a problem

Difficulty with gambling builds up gradually, and it is easier to spot in habits than in a single session. Look honestly at the points below.

  • You play for longer or stake more than you planned to.
  • You gamble with money set aside for bills, rent or food.
  • You borrow money, sell belongings or use a credit facility to keep playing.
  • You increase your stakes to win back what you have lost.
  • You hide how much you play, or how much you have lost, from people close to you.
  • You feel restless, anxious or irritable when you are not playing.
  • You gamble to escape stress, boredom, loneliness or low mood.
  • Work, study, sleep or relationships are suffering because of the time you spend playing.

If several of these apply to you, set a time-out or a self-exclusion today and contact one of the organisations below. Support is free and confidential, and asking for it early makes it easier to regain control.

Where to get free, confidential help

The organisations below are not part of our business and their support costs nothing to use. You can find each of them by searching for its name.

  • GambleAware - a charity that funds free treatment, advice and prevention work across Great Britain, and publishes guidance together with a directory of local services.
  • GamCare - provides free counselling, information and ongoing support for anyone affected by gambling, in person, by telephone and online, including help for family members and friends.
  • GamStop - a free self-exclusion scheme for online gambling: one registration blocks you from the websites and apps of participating operators licensed in Great Britain for the period you choose.
  • the National Gambling Helpline - a free, confidential helpline staffed at all hours by trained advisers who can talk through your situation and refer you into treatment.
  • your GP - a good first step if gambling is affecting your mental or physical health, and a route into local NHS services.

Many banks also let you block gambling payments from your card or account, and blocking software can stop gambling sites from loading on your devices. Used alongside self-exclusion, these measures remove the easy routes back to play.

Protecting minors

Gambling by anyone under 18 is against the law in the United Kingdom and against our terms. We carry out verification checks on the details you give us when you register and before withdrawals are paid, and we may ask for documents confirming your name, date of birth and address at any time. If an account holder turns out to be under 18, the account is closed, winnings are void and deposits are returned.

Your account is personal to you. You are responsible for everything that happens on it, so keep your password private, do not let anyone else play on your account, and take care on devices that children can reach.

  • Do not save your password or payment details in a browser on a shared device.
  • Lock your phone, tablet and computer with a PIN, password or biometric.
  • Set up separate user profiles for children, with the restrictions built into the device or operating system switched on.
  • Install parental control or filtering software that blocks gambling content, and keep it updated.
  • Keep cards, banking apps and one-time passcodes out of reach.
  • Talk to older children about why gambling is restricted to adults.

If you believe someone under 18 has used your account, stop playing and tell us at once on live chat or at support@casino-vave.co.uk so we can look into it and secure the account.
